About P3 — Course Data & Transparent W/kg Estimation
P3 (Predictive Performance Portal) is a journalist-facing analytics platform for professional road cycling. It unifies official UCI results — over 100,000 riders and millions of race results — with course intelligence: GPX-derived elevation profiles, automatic climb detection and per-stage difficulty scores for the races that matter. On top of that public data, P3 publishes transparent W/kg estimates: sustained climbing power computed from publicly recorded ascent times using a VAM model, always flagged as an estimate with an explicit confidence level — never presented as measured telemetry. Built ahead of the 2026 UCI Road World Championships in Montréal, the platform gives journalists, sports directors and fans the same verifiable numbers: who is climbing fastest, on which gradients, and how a course profile shapes the race. Every figure shown on P3 can be traced back to a public result.
